Recently I was talking with someone who was using a feeling of worthlessness to motivate themselves to do better next time. In fact this person couldn’t even see a way of looking at it differently. They were stuck in that pattern of behaviour. Ending the work day feeling like a failure. Those feelings create bad brain waves, they literally create bad brain chemistry. And that also affects your body. It’s a demotivating, unproductive thing to do.
People who learn to play guitar or card sleight-of-hand, or anything that requires practice are more likely to succeed if they are enjoying it. When you learn something you have to practice it over and over again and in some cases you may get it wrong dozens of times before you get it right once, (before then getting it wrong again many times more). If every time you get it wrong you feel bad, the bad feeling are going to be huge!
If instead you feel nether good or bad (driven maybe…) when getting it wrong, but when you get it right you feel good, you are going to be drawn towards it.
