"Losers visualize the penalties of failure. Winners visualize the rewards of success."
William S. Gilbert (Gilbert & Sullivan)

Following on from the 'Making Good Decisions' video second in this Success Series of Short videos is Building Success on Success. Just as you don't make great decisions from a bad mood you don't create success thinking about failure all the time.

The simple concept in this video and mindset are one that will help you build more success from your previous successes...

3 Feet from Gold

The story in Napoleon Hill's best seller Think and Grow Rich tells of a man, R. U. Harby who gave up when he was just 3 feet from gold.

It started when Harby’s uncle started digging for gold during the gold rush…  and after a while he found a vein of ore. Excited he returned home and raised the money he needed to buy the machinery necessary. With Darby he raised the money and when to make their fortune.

A great start, they found enough Gold to pay back the money they borrowed and clear their debts. But then the supply of Gold ran out.

They kept on going, but found nothing.

After a while of not finding more Gold, they quit and sold the machinery to a man who owned a junk yard.

The who bought the machinery called a mining engineer who checked the mine and found that there was a big vein of gold just 3 feet from where they stopped digging.

The owner of the junk yard make millions from the mine…

Darby however was the kind of man to ‘go from failure to failure without losing his enthusiasm’ he returned home and went on to become a very successful salesman. Earning more than he would have made from the gold mine.

The Interesting Thing About Luck...

Professor Richard Wiseman, gave two groups of people who described themselves as lucky and unlucky a newspaper and asked them to look through it and count how many photographs were inside.

On average the unlucky people took about two minutes to count the photographs, whereas the lucky people took just seconds. Why? Because the second page of the newspaper contained the message: "Stop counting. There are 43 photographs in this newspaper." This message took up half of the page and was written in type that was more than 2in high. It was staring everyone straight in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it and the lucky people tended to spot it.

He also placed a second large message halfway through the newspaper saying: "Stop counting. Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win £250." Again, the unlucky people didn’t have their Eyes Open to Opportunity missed it because they were still too busy looking for photographs.

"Successful people are always looking for opportunities to help others. Unsuccessful people are always asking, "What's in it for me?"
Brian Tracy

In my experience helping others is something most successful people do. And it's something I like to do. In fact its what my Free Your Life Series is about...
