“All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us” J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings

Making good decisions comes from good thinking. Good thinking has to do with good brain chemistry and good brain chemistry comes from your thoughts and your physiology.

"Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen" Ralph Waldo Emerson

A great process that will help you to really get clarity on what it is that you want is the ‘Green Light / Red Light’ thinking process. In fact this is a great thinking process for any kind of big decision making… so start using it today and see what a difference it makes.

‘Green Light / Red Light’ Thinking

Green Light thinking means coming up with ideas and not judging them, just coming up with ideas and writing them all down.

After a good nights sleep, you then apply ‘Red Light’ thinking to your ideas. Go through it and knock out all of the things that you didn’t judge when you were writing your list but are just not appropriate. But remember having these ideas, that may not be appropriate themselves, probably led you on to other thoughts that you wouldn’t otherwise have thought of and some of these you will keep.

The idea is to get the critical part of your mind out of the way while you answer the questions you need answering. Just thinking about what you would do if you could do anything and then write it down. Then thinking about ways you would achieve that.

"Your life changes the moment you make a new, congruent, and committed decision" Anthony Robbins

So you want to know a bit more about me… Well, it’s been four decades since I arrived here on planet Earth and has been an interesting journey so far…

The Interesting Thing About Luck...

Professor Richard Wiseman, gave two groups of people who described themselves as lucky and unlucky a newspaper and asked them to look through it and count how many photographs were inside.

On average the unlucky people took about two minutes to count the photographs, whereas the lucky people took just seconds. Why? Because the second page of the newspaper contained the message: "Stop counting. There are 43 photographs in this newspaper." This message took up half of the page and was written in type that was more than 2in high. It was staring everyone straight in the face, but the unlucky people tended to miss it and the lucky people tended to spot it.

He also placed a second large message halfway through the newspaper saying: "Stop counting. Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win £250." Again, the unlucky people didn’t have their Eyes Open to Opportunity missed it because they were still too busy looking for photographs.
